KIM A. BARANOWSKI, PHD, ABPP: Associate Director

Dr. Kim Baranowski is a licensed psychologist and consultant who works in the fields of trauma, forced migration, human rights, and global health.

She facilitates clinical training and professional development, creates organizational programming, fosters community partnerships and engagement, and leads advocacy efforts. Through pro bono forensic psychological evaluation, she documents evidence of exposure to gender-based violence, torture, and other human rights abuses experienced by individuals seeking protected immigration status. Dr. Baranowski also designs and conducts mixed methods, qualitative, and participatory action research.

Dr. Baranowski is dedicated to collaborating with allied professionals across disciplines to provide culturally-responsive and trauma-informed supports for communities experiencing a wide range of socio-political stressors. She serves as the Associate Director of the Mount Sinai Human Rights Program which offers comprehensive pro bono services to asylum seekers to the United States who have experienced persecution in their countries of origin. Dr. Baranowski is also an American Psychological Association Representative to the United Nations and the recipient of the APA Citizen Psychologist Presidential Citation.
