Human Rights Speaker Series: The Assessment, Diagnosis, and Treatment of Dissociative Identity Disorder

The Mount Sinai Human Rights Program’s Human Rights Speaker Series presents Dr. Matthew Robinson. Dissociative identity disorder (DID), previously referred to as multiple personality disorder, is often associated with long-term exposure to trauma, particularly chronic traumatic experiences, during early childhood. Dr. Matthew Robinson, Director of the Outpatient Trauma Clinic, Director of Clinical Services at the Hill Center Partial Hospital Program, and Co-Director for the Initiative for Integrated Trauma Research, Care, and Training at McLean Hospital, will discuss this often misunderstood condition. He will share insights into best practices for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of DID in diverse clinical settings that reflect current research findings.
